DB sources said the officers were suspected of colluding with the banned Awami League


The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested two retired army officers, Brigadier General Debashish Kumar Barua and Lieutenant Kazi Gulshan Ara.
 
They were arrested on Sunday night under the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Cyber Security Act.
 
The DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division confirmed the arrests, saying further details would be shared later.
 
DB sources said the officers were suspected of colluding with the banned Awami League in a conspiracy to destabilize the country. Further details were not immediately available.
